Magister Jeremias Erichsen Hass is described as a pious and meek person. He lost his fortune as a result of the big fire in Trondheim on April 19, 1681. He was ordained parish priest in Stod on April 31, 1690 and lived on the farm Fornaes. He was the pastor in Frosta from 1710 until 1735 when he died on Sunday the 20th of February.

From 1726 he owned Logtun Kirke besides Vang Kirke and Loe Kirke in Aasen which also belonged to the parish..

What is not mentioned is that he in 1691 married Margretha Borch, the daughter of Peder R. Borch, "vice-pastor" to Stod (a place not far from Steinkjer). She was born June 30, 1663, and died 1746. Children: 1. Peder Hass, parish priest in Sundalen. 2. Maren Magdalene Hass married to Richard Hagerup, parish priest in Skogn. 3. Margretha Christine Hass, married to Niels Toender (Tønder), parish priest in Our Lady's church in Trondheim.

In the church book for neighboring Leksvik (across the fjord) an entry is recorded by pastor Anders Nielsen Aalborg:

The 28 August (1730): I went across to Frosta to accompany Magister Jeremias (Hass) with the prisoner Rasmus Baarsen to his place of execution on Oexningen (Oex = Ax) (a piece of rock in the fjord) the day after, who was condemned to be burned in the fire, (but was first strangled and suffocated), for his unnatural intercourse with creatures. Due to the big storm from North and otherwise unstable weather I did not return home before noon 31st of August.

His pious attitude is probably shown in the merciful act of strangulating and suffocating the prisoner.

When he left this world he was a rich man, owning the churches and numerous farms in Frosta.
